Craig Blac first got his start in radio as an overnight personality and a street team member at WPGC 95.5 where he worked alongside two popular D.C. jocks, Tigger of BET’s “Rap City,” and the legendary Donnie Simpson. Craig later became the Assistant Promotions Director/Street Team Director/Weekend On-air Personality with a Sunday night go-go show at D.C.’s WKYS-FM 93.9. Go-go music’s greatest came through to sit in on Blac’s show, including the Chocolate City’s “godfather of go go,” Chuck Brown.
In June 2000, Craig relocated to St. Louis and joined Q95.5 WFUN as an On-Air Personality. He quickly rose through the ranks, moving from the night slot to afternoons and ultimately becoming Program Director. Although Q95.5 eventually closed its doors, Craig’s journey didn’t end there. Just a year later, he returned to St. Louis to launch Hot 104.1, taking on the roles of both Morning Show Host and Program Director.
During his time in St. Louis, Craig launched the highly acclaimed Community Cuts for Kids initiative (#CCFK), which offered complimentary back-to-school haircuts for boys, hairstyles for girls, as well as school supplies and health screenings for youth. This program quickly became a beloved annual tradition, supporting families and empowering children as they prepared for a new school year.
Craig moved back to his hometown of Washington, DC in June 2012 and continued his yearly program Community Cuts for Kids in St Louis, Mo. In December 2016, he returned to his Broadcasting roots at WPGC and launched Community Cuts for Kids in DC, Maryland & amp; Virginia (The DMV). Craig Blac’s Community Cuts for Kids celebrated its 8th year in The DMV and its 24 the year in St Louis this August 2025.
