MLB Insider Joe Frisaro still sees an unclear reason for Derek Jeter leaving The Marlins organization saying, “It is still kind of hush hush.”

He notes things have changed while not changing stating, “The face of the franchise was Derek, now it is multifaceted but the vision remains the same.”

Owner Bruce Sherman says the team will spend money but Frisaro says not so fast, “The Marlins are waiting to see where Freddie Freeman goes, then things will settle out.”

Frisaro is ok with some of the new rules in Major League Baseball saying, “The expanded playoffs gives The Marlins more hope.”

Bruce Sherman did address the media the other day and Frisaro feels his message was interesting about Jeter, “He seems to be like the show is over and we are moving on”.

Sherman’s message to free agents seems clear to Frisaro, he says, “Derek may be gone but Miami is a great place to live and we have good people here.”

The Marlins open their season against The Giants in San Francisco on April 8th.
