WESTPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Westport Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.
The 7-year-old girl found dead at 1 Lyndale Park on Thursday afternoon had been drowned. Medical examiners determined it was a homicide.
Her mother, Tracy Do, 46, died by suicide.
"This is a horrible tragedy, and the police department is keeping the family as well as the community that was so deeply affected by this in our thoughts and prayers," says Westport Police Chief Foti Koskinas.
Counseling was made available to school students on Friday.
Police aren't releasing any further information at this time.
