(WWJ) A Garden City man is facing felony charges after it's alleged he posted an ad seeking to have sex with dogs.

Jacob Peltz, 27, was arraigned last week on one count of using a computer to commit a crime, one count of crimes against nature, as well as animal cruelty for an injured rabbit found during the investigation.

According to the Michigan Humane Society, Peltz was arrested following a probe that began back in 2018 when it's alleged the request by Peltz was found in the since-removed personals section on Craigslist.

In an interview with WDIV, Humane Society investigator Elise Ramsey said she went undercover, texting with the defendant throughout the investigation — and what she learned was chilling.

“It does happen and it is shocking and disturbing about how flagrant people are about these wants and desires,” Ramsey told the TV station.

Ramsey said Peltz had a job in which he was in close contact with animals.

Peltz posted bond, was released from jail and is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing next week. He faces more than a decade in prison if convicted as charged.

MHS is asking anyone who believes their pet was victimized by Peltz to call them at 866-MHUMANE.
