(WWJ) An autopsy will be conducted, police say, after a metro Detroit man was killed in a crash in Lansing over the weekend.

According to Lansing police, 27-year old Ryan Dickson of Romulus was speeding when he lost control of his car just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the area of Mt. Hope and Teel, and crashed into a utility pole.

Investigators say Dickson's vehicle then rolled over, hit a parked pickup truck and separated into two parts — half of the vehicle hitting a parked motorcycle and home in the 100 block of E. Mt. Hope. The car, motorcycle and house all caught fire, police said.

The other half of the vehicle came to rest in the yard of another home on the block.

Dickson was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was "extensive damage" to the home that was hit, as well as the vehicles, motorcycle and the utility pole involved, police said — but no one else was hurt.

Police said speed was determined to be a factor in the crash, although it's not yet known if alcohol, drugs or any medical situation were involved. Autopsy results are expected in six to eight weeks.
