
GIRARD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) - A Riverview man who stopped to deal with car troubles along I-69 near Coldwater was fatally struck by a passing vehicle.
Michigan State Police say the 67-year-old man had some type of issue with his vehicle while driving in the southbound lanes of I-69 near Jonesville Road in Girard Township around 3 p.m. Monday.
The man pulled onto the shoulder and after he got out of his car, he was struck by a passing vehicle.
The man, whose name hasn't been released, died at the scene.
Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
