
(WWJ) Michigan State Police troopers have arrested one of three suspects in an armed robbery in Farmington Hills, following a high-speed chase spanning several counties.
According to the MSP Paw Paw Post, after spotting the suspect's vehicle at around 3 a.m. Thursday on westbound I-94 in Kalamazoo County, troopers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver drove away at speeds exceeding 130 miles per hour.
After stop sticks were deployed, the driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road and crashed into a tree near in Berrien County's Coloma, MSP said. No one was hurt in the crash.
There was a foot chase, the driver was arrested and booked in the Van Buren County jail on multiple charges.
The other two other suspects were able to get away, and remained on the run later in the day.
Police said all three people in the are believed to be connected to an early morning robbery in Farmington Hills, and were considered to be armed and dangerous.
The two suspects still at large are both described as black males, 20 to 25 years old. One of them was wearing olive-colored clothing, police said.
Police said they found evidence that the suspects may have been picked up and left the area, adding that it is believe that there is "no credible threat to the public" at this time.
Troopers were assisted by Van Buren County Sheriff's Department, Berrien County Sheriff's Department, Pokagon Tribal Police, Watervliet Police Department, Coloma Police Department, Hartford Police
Department, and Great Lakes Drone Company.
Police have not yet released any information about the robbery in Farmington Hills, and name of the person in custody is being withheld, pending his arraignment.
