1 woman shot, another pistol whipped during robbery at Southfield hotel

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- Southfield Police are searching for two men who shot a woman and assaulted another at a hotel early this morning.

Witnesses told police the suspects went into a hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn on American Drive near Franklin and I-696 around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday and tried to rob the women.

During the robbery, one woman was shot and the other hit with a gun. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction

Both women were transported to a local hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition and expected to recover.

Not much information is currently known about the suspects, and the investigation by police is ongoing.
