ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (WWJ) – Police in West Michigan are searching for a missing 13-year-old boy who drove away from his home in his dad’s car.

The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office is asking Michiganders to be on the lookout for Zander Canales, of Valley Township – a little more than 20 miles southeast of Holland – who has been missing since Wednesday, Feb. 2.

The sheriff’s office says Canales drove away from his residence in his father’s cream-colored 2006 Chrysler 300 on Wednesday and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

The teen’s family believes he may be with unknown friends in the Holland area, the sheriff’s office says.

Police say the vehicle has chrome accents, an eagle on the front grill and a “cross” sticker on the trunk area. The license plate number is 5MVP98.

Authorities are asking anyone who has seen Zander Canales to contact Allegan County Central Dispatch or Silent Observer.
