Landis Vickerson of Detroit hasn’t had electricity since Wednesday night.

“No air, no food, discomfort, everything,” he told WWJ. “Just sitting there in the dark….”

Nearly 2,900 crews are in the field to restore power, according to DTE.

DTE told WWJ the estimated restoration for most of the customers is 11:30 p.m. Saturday. However, they said a small portion of those affected may remain in the dark until Monday.

Nearly 800,000 homes and businesses in total were knocked off the grid by the storms.
