WARREN (WWJ) - A very serious crash involving a truck and an SUV at a Warren intersection on Friday morning sent multiple people to the hospital, including two young kids.

The Warren Police Department said multiple calls came in just before 7:30 a.m. to report the collision at 10 Mile Road and Mound.

When officers arrived at the scene, they determined a Jeep Commander was heading south on Mound when it came into the intersection at 10 Mile and crashed into a Dodge Ram that was headed east.

The driver and lone occupant of the Jeep sustained a serious head injury and was transported by the fire department to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Fire crews also rushed the three occupants in the truck, an adult male and two children, to Macomb Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash site was littered with debris, complicating the investigation, police said. Drivers are asked to avoid the area as Warren Police Evidence Technicians process the scene.

The intersection is expected to be closed until 11 a.m.

Further details about the crash were not released.
