DETROIT (WWJ) -- State police took two suspects into custody Saturday after the victim of a possible freeway shooting provided a license plate number and description.

At 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 4, Michigan State Police troopers responded to a report of shots fired on the southbound side of the Lodge near Linwood.

Officers spoke to the victim, who provided a license plate number and said he believed the alleged shooter's vehicle was parked near the intersection of Lawton St. and Midland, just a block north of the freeway.

Locating the vehicle, MSP confirmed the license plate and determined that the driver and passenger matched the description given by the victim.

One of the suspects had a pistol, which was confiscated by law enforcement. Both persons of interest were arrested and taken to the MSP South Post for interviews.

Charges may be filed following a prosecutor's review of the case.
