2 killed in shooting on Detroit's west side

(WWJ) Detroit police are investigating a deadly double shooting, early Tuesday morning on the city's west side.

At around 3:15 a.m., police say the victims were traveling south on 29th Street near Michigan Ave. in a Jeep Cherokee, when an unknown suspect or suspects fired multiple shots into the vehicle.

Both men inside the SUV were shot, and both were pronounced dead by EMS at the scene. The victims were not immediately identified.

Police said the Jeep crashed and damage the porch of a home on 29th, but no one in the home was hurt.

There is no description of the shooter or shooters at this time, and other circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated, police said.
