ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Police are continuing to investigate "hate motivated" vandalism that hit two University of Michigan fraternity houses this week -- and now they're turning to the public for help.
According to the Ann Arbor Police Department, the homes -- located at 1928 Geddes Avenue and 800 Oxford Road -- were struck with vandalism consisting of homophobic and anti-Semitic symbols, including a swastika.
Police said they believe the crimes occurred between the hours of 5 p.m. July 17 and 6 a.m. on July 18.
The department stated that hate crimes are taken very seriously and they are seeking information from the public to find those responsible.
"Hate has no place in the City of Ann Arbor," police said.
Anyone who may have seen something suspicious is advised to reach out to police. They also asked residents in the area to look at any surveillance footage caught by security or doorbell cameras in the event it captured the suspect or suspects during the timeframe the vandalism occurred.
