(WWJ) Three women are in the hospital after a serious crash involving a pickup truck and an SUV in Pontiac Wednesday night.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup was headed southbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. at around 9 p.m. when it struck a Ford Explorer that disregarded a stop sign at Elm Street.

The 34-year-old Pontiac woman driving the Ford, and her passenger, a 41-year-old Pontiac woman, were both ejected from the vehicle, officials said.

The women were taken by EMS to a local hospital were they were listed in serious condition.

The pickup driver, a 57-year-old Pontiac woman, was also taken to a hospital where she was last reported in stable condition.

While the investigation continues, official said it appears that alcohol was a factor in this crash on the part of the Ford driver.

The sheriff's office noted that neither woman who was ejected from the SUV had been wearing a seat belt.

Any possible charges are pending. No names were released.
