(WWJ) – Multiple Metro Detroit Congressional elections ended in a landslide for Democrats, according to the Associated Press, with Haley Stevens, Debbie Dingell, Rashida Tlaib and Shri Thanedar all winning by wide margins.
The incumbent in Michigan’s 11th District, representing Oakland County, Stevens will win a third term in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to the AP, who called the race against Republican Mark Ambrose around 9:30 p.m.
In the multi-county 6th District, meanwhile, Dingell held a sizable lead over Republican Whittney Williams, ahead by nearly 30% with 70% of the vote in.
Thanedar and Tlaib, both representing parts of Detroit and Wayne County, each had 70% of the vote as of 2:45 a.m.
Other closely watched Congressional races across Michigan include the race between Republican John James and Democrat Carl Marlinga in the newly drawn 10th District and a hotly contested challenge in the 7th District between Republican Tom Barrett and Democrat Elissa Slotkin.
Both were coming down to the wire. James was ahead by 8% with less than half the vote counted, while Slotkin rallied to take a slim lead late in the game, with over 90% of votes in.
Elsewhere in the state, the AP has declared victories for several Republicans, including Jack Bergman in the 1st District, John Moolenaar in the 2nd, Bill Huizenga in the 4th, Tim Walberg in the 5th and Lisa McClain in the 9th.
Democrat Hillary Scholten was projected to win the 3rd District, while the race between Dan Kildee and Paul Junge had not yet been called.
