Detroit police looking for suspects in Dodge Journey after 23-year-old shot to death on west side

DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for a black Dodge Journey Detroit police believe was involved in a deadly shooting on the city’s west side Saturday night.

Police officials say a 23-year-old man was shot just before 8 p.m. in the 8100 block of Parkland – near Joy Road and Outer Drive.

Authorities say there were possibly shots exchanged between the victim and multiple unknown suspects. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Police officials said they are looking for a black Dodge Journey that was at the scene but did not say how many people were inside. Authorities had not released any photos of the SUV, as of Sunday morning.

It was not clear what prompted the shooting.

Detroit police are asking anyone who may know something about the shooting to come forward.
