DETROIT (WWJ) -- A 26-year-old woman who wasn't wearing her seatbelt has died following a roll-over crash on I-96 in Detroit Wednesday night.

Michigan State Police arrived to the scene of the crash around 11 p.m. on the freeway near Telegraph Road and discovered the woman ejected from the crashed car.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation showed that the woman was speeding, lost control of her car, rolled it -- and because she wasn't wearing her seatbelt -- was thrown from the vehicle.

Officials closed the freeway for hours to investigate.

Details are unknown if any other cars were involved.
