MONROE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- A 29-year-old man is in police custody after a fatal shooting in Monroe Township Monday night.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 6000 block of Greenwycke Lane, just off South Dixie Highway, around 9:20 p.m. Monday on the report of a shooting.
When authorities arrived on the scene they discovered a woman dead inside the residence. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Kaitlynn Nicole Hill of Monroe.
A 29-year-old Monroe man was taken into police custody without incident in connection with the shooting and lodged in the Monroe County Jail. Police have not disclosed the man’s identity, with charges still pending.
Authorities have not released any other details about what led to the incident, which remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 734-240-7530.
