DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a trio of people they call “persons of interest” in connection to a felonious assault that happened on the city’s west side in early April.
Authorities say around 11:30 p.m. on April 9 a 22-year-old woman was struck by gunfire in the 8100 block of Northfield -- in the area of Tireman and Livernois Avenues -- from an unknown suspect. The victim was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.
A large gathering was taking place at the corner of Vancouver and Northfield when some began firing shots into the crowd.
Detroit police released surveillance video from a home in the area that shows three people brandishing weapons -- two men and a woman. The two men are seen walking slowly in the front yard of a home with their weapons drawn.
A second video shows the woman with what appears to be a handgun walk toward the house and then back into the street.
Police released the following descriptions of the persons of interest:
-- Person of Interest 1: female, heavy build, long ponytail
-- Person of Interest 2: male, slim build,
-- Person of Interest 3: male, heavy build, full beard
