(WWJ) Three people are hospitalized following a triple shooting on a party bus in Detroit.

Detroit Police say it happened early Monday morning, as the bus was in the 11100 block of Harper, in the area of Conner St. and I-94.

At around 12:45 a.m. an argument broke out on the bus, according to investigators, and a 21-year-old man fired shots, wounding a 41-year-old man.

Police said the victim -- who was also armed -- shot back, striking the suspect.

A second victim, a 24-year-old man, was also shot during the incident, although it's not clear by whom.

All three men were taken by EMS to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

Police noted that all of this is preliminary information which is subject to change upon further investigation.

No names have been released and no charges have been announced, as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Fifth Precinct Investigative Unit at 313-596-5540, or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587).

The bus party comes as bars closed for indoor service by order of the state health department, and gatherings are strongly discouraged due to a surge of COVID-19 cases in Michigan.
