9 people injured after shots fired at early morning party in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO (WWJ) - Multiple people were hit by gunfire after bullets when flying at a party on the state's westside early Saturday morning.

Police said they received a call about multiple shots fired in the 1300 block of N Church Street in Kalamazoo around 2:13 a.m. on July 23.

When public safety officers arrived on scene, they located two victims who had sustained non life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, other gunshot victims began trickling into local hospitals and told staff they were hit while at the address on N Church Street, police confirmed.

Officials said luckily none of the injured were in life-threatening condition.

While the non-fatal shooting remains under investigation, police said it appears all the victims were attending a large party at the time the shooting took place.

As of late Saturday morning, no suspects have been identified by police.
