DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for three suspects who carjacked an Amazon driver on Detroit’s east side Wednesday morning and later fled in a getaway car.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. when the Amazon driver was making a delivery in the area of Nottingham and I-94, near Outer Drive.
The suspects pulled up in a blue Chevy Trailblazer and one of the suspects got in the Amazon van and pointed a gun at the driver when he tried to get back in.
The Amazon van and suspect Chevy both drove away from the scene, ultimately abandoning the van in the area of Outer and Alter Road, according to Detroit police.
They then got inside the Chevy and sped away.
Detroit police released photos of the suspects Wednesday afternoon, showing them entering the back.

Officials say while more than 20 packages were recovered from the van, several packages were stolen.
While he reported packages were stolen, it was not immediately clear how many.
The driver was unharmed, WWJ’s Charlie Langton reported at the scene.
Officials are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or Trailblazer, or knows something about the incident, to call the Detroit Police Commercial Auto Theft Section at 313-596-2555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
