Bank robber wanted for holding up Fifth Third Bank in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Police in Ann Arbor are searching for a male suspect wanted in connection to a robbery at the Fifth Third Bank on Washtenaw Ave. Friday afternoon.

Authorities said the man walked into the bank around 1:36 p.m. and flashed a handgun to the bank teller.

The suspect demanded money and was able to leave the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured during the alleged robbery, police said.

The suspect is being described as a white male -- the man's age, build and approximant weight were not given by police.

He was wearing a blue surgical mask on his face with a cream-colored baseball cap, a plaid button-up shirt, and blue jeans.

Another incident similar to the robbery at Fifth Third Bank was reported at a Chase Bank in Ann Arbor on July 16.
