TROY, Mich. (WWJ) – A local healthcare worker and her colleagues got a taste of Hollywood on Tuesday as she helped reveal the 2022 Oscar nominations.

Chantia Bobo Harden, of Macomb, who works at Beaumont Hospital Troy as a physician’s assistant, appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” early Tuesday morning to reveal the nominees for Best Original Score.

Harden tells WWJ’s Dr. Deanna Lites. Even though she had to be at the hospital bright and early for preparation, the energy between her and her colleagues was “insane.”

“This opportunity literally does not present itself often, especially in the line of work that we do,” she said.

Harden, who works in interventional radiology and serves as a diversity chair at the hospital, says she got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity through a cousin who works as a producer in Hollywood.

The Motion Picture Academy wanted to do something different this year and get viewers involved in the announcement of the nominees, according to Harden. The Academy especially wanted to honor frontline workers who have made an impact during the COVID-19 pandemic, and she says it was indeed an honor after a couple of tough years in the healthcare industry.

“For healthcare workers, people that have basically been dealing with COVID the last two years, what we do is just hard work and we were all so excited to be a part of this,” she said.

The nominees Harden announced for Best Score include “Don’t Look Up,” Nicholas Britell (Netflix); “Dune,” Hans Zimmer (Warner Bros.); “Encanto,” Germaine Franco (Walt Disney Studios); “Parallel Mothers,” Alberto Iglesias (Sony Pictures Classics); and “The Power of the Dog,” Jonny Greenwood (Netflix).

The 94th Annual Academy Awards are set to air on March 27 in Los Angeles.
