(WWJ) -- Betsy DeVos, the former U.S. Education Secretary, has claimed that President Joe Biden treated her in a way that would warrant a Title IX sexual harassment allegation against him under his administration’s new revision proposals.

During a podcast with former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, the Michigan native said that she first met Biden at a 2019 event when he approached her, put his hands on her shoulders, and pressed his forehead against hers for several seconds.

DeVos says that she was in a wheelchair at the time recovering from a broken pelvis, and that she had “nowhere to go or escape.”

She went on to claim that if the incident had fallen under the Biden administration’s definition of sexual harassment within its Title IX revisions, she would would have grounds for a complaint.

"If he had done that as a student on a college campus, under his proposed rule, I would have a Title IX sexual harassment allegation to levy against him, because of his conduct," DeVos said.

The West Michigan GOP donor went on to tell Kelly that her encounter with Biden is an example of how the new Title IX proposals are too extreme, saying that the White House "is so bent on trying to politicize and weaponize a law that was meant to protect women and give them access to education, not to weaponize it to harm others."

DeVos overhauled Title IX rules, which prohibit sex-based discrimination in schools or any education institutions or programs that receive federal funding, while she was serving as U.S. Education Secretary during the Trump administration.

In June, the Department of Education said it planned to reinstate many of the regulations eliminated by DeVos, as well as expand the definition of sexual harassment to encompass all "unwelcome sex-based conduct that creates a hostile environment," and add protections for transgender students and others.

The White House has not yet commented on DeVos's statement.
