A word of advice from your friendly local weatherman: Bundle up and get the snow shovel ready -- again.

WWJ's Accuweather meteorologist Dean DeVore is watching some light snow Monday morning that he predicted will turn into blizzard-like conditions Monday night. Metro Detroiters should brace to wake up to 6 to 10 inches of snow by Tuesday.

"We're going to see snow all day and it's actually going to pick up in intensity later this afternoon and into tonight," DeVore reported. "When we're all said and done, 6-10 inches."

"Treacherous travel for 36 hours and more snow is on the way for the end of the week."

The high today is 18 degrees with Accu Weather real feels in the single digits.

The heaviest and steadiest snowfall should arrive later this evening and continue through tonight and into tomorrow morning. The low temperature tonight is 12 degrees, but real feel temperatures will be below zero.

With an accumulation of up to 10 inches and blowing and drifting snow anticipated, travel is expected to be dangerous.

This comes six years and a couple of weeks after metro Detroit had its third-largest snowstorm on record, with more than a foot of snow falling between Feb. 1 and Feb. 2, 2015. Exactly 16.7 inches of snow fell in that time frame.
