UPPER PENINSULA (WWJ) -- A young bobcat in the U.P. is recovering after getting into a tussle with a porcupine and winding up with quills all over her body.
A hunter in Dickinson County found the starving bobcat and along with a conservation officer they got her to the vet.
The vet removed the quills and put her on medication.
The young bobcat was then taken to Beth Maata from the U.P. Wildlife Rehabilitation -- Keweenaw Group where she is currently getting cared for.
The group said the bobcat is now moving around, vocalizing and eating.
But although she is on the mend, she only weighs four lbs., which is 10 lbs. underweight, said Maata.

The rehabilitation group said aside from medical costs, the biggest expense will be feeding her, so they are asking for donations to use towards her food since they'll most likely have her until the spring.
You can make a donation to the rehabilitation group to help feed the young bobcat on their Facebook.
