DETROIT (WWJ) -- Thanksgiving will be grand this year for one iconic Detroit Lions player!
Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson Jr. and Detroit Bishop Edgar Vann will serve as Grand Marshals of America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Gardner-White, which is themed "Love on Woodward" this year.

Johnson -- known to Lions’ fans as “Megatron” -- spent his entire nine-year career in Detroit.
The six-time Pro Bowler is also the founder of the Calvin Johnson Jr. Foundation, which provides money to community organizations and support for at-risk youth.
Detroit Bishop Edgar Vann has been serving as Senior Pastor of the Second Ebenezer Church since 1976, continuing the tradition started by his father, who was a noted religious leader in Detroit for over 50 years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Calvin Johnson and Bishop Vann as this year’s Grand Marshals for America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Gardner-White,” said Tony Michaels, president and CEO of The Parade Company. “Both are beloved figures in Detroit who have worked tirelessly to elevate our city and serve our community. It will be exciting to celebrate with them on Woodward Avenue on Thanksgiving morning.”
America’s Thanksgiving Parade is set for Thanksgiving morning on Thursday, November 25 in downtown Detroit.
