NORTHVILLE (WWJ) – A married couple from Northville has died after a rollover crash early Saturday morning.
Omar Salamen, 46, and his 40-year-old wife, Manal Kadry, were killed when their car slammed into a tree in the Steeplechase subdivision shortly after midnight Saturday, according to Northville police officials.
Police were called to the crash on Bayberry Way, near Seven Mile and Napier Roads, where they had to use extraction equipment to remove the couple.
Both Salamen and Kadry were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say preliminary evidence shows the vehicle was trying to navigate a curve in the neighborhood when it left the road and struck a tree.
Authorities are still investigating what caused the crash. Officials didn’t say whether alcohol or drugs were believed to be factors in the crash.
