
DETROIT (WWJ) -- It'll be a star-studded event on Woodward Avenue in Detroit this year come Thanksgiving morning.
The 96th America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Gardner White will feature a slew of celebrities, including athletes, singers and more.
The Parade Company announced on Wednesday that pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk will appear in the parade, as well as pro-boxer Alycia Baumgardner, Olympic athletes Megan Keller and Nick Baumgartner, and Detroit Tigers legend Willie Horton.
In entertainment, parade goers will see Detroit techno legends The Belleville Three and "America’s Got Talent" finalist and Oxford High School alum Ava Swiss, plus a live performance from singer/actress Zurin Villanueva, who plays the title role in “Tina - The Tina Turner Musical.”
This year’s Grand Marshals are Reverend Dr. Wendell Anthony and former Michigan Wolverines basketball star Jalen Rose.
Meanwhile, rapper Lil Jon is set to perform at the Hob Nobble Gobble, which takes place at Ford Field on Friday, Nov. 18.
Along with the celebrity guests, this year’s parade will also feature nine new floats designed by The Parade Company, and a theme of “Our Great City! Detroit!”
The 96th America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Gardner White is set for Thanksgiving Day — Thursday, Nov. 24 — with a pre-show kickoff at 9 a.m. and an official start time of 10 a.m.
The parade is broadcast live on 104.3 WOMC and can be seen on WDIV. Local coverage begins at 6 a.m.
