DEARBORN (WWJ) – A Dearborn man has been arrested after police say they discovered nearly 50 videos of child porn on his phone, with one of the victims being as young as two years old.

Police searched Haithan Sami Bazzi's home on April 4 after receiving a tip from a man Bazzi met on a dating app and found 48 videos of child porn and 17 other videos of suspected child porn, depending on the victims’ ages. One of the videos allegedly shows him giving meth to a teenager while they were engaged in a sexual act.

Bazzi has been charged with production, possession, and receipt of child pornography.

A court document says Bazzi met the man on a dating app and the two met up at Bazzi’s home in early April. Though Bazzi made a crude comment to the man about his young cousin, the man “brushed it off” and again met him on April 4.

As the men were at Bazzi’s house, he asked if he wanted to see nude pictures of him and he consented. According to the court document, Bazzi showed him images of himself performing sex acts on another male.

When the man began to swipe photos on Bazzi’s phone, he was told, “no, don’t do that, you may see something you don’t want to see. I’ve got a lot of pictures from the dark web.”

The court document says after the unidentified man continued swiping, he saw at least a dozen videos and “lots of pictures” of young children engaged in sex acts.

The man told authorities at least six or seven of the videos contained the same child. He asked Bazzi if that was his cousin he previously mentioned, to which he responded, “No, I wish. I can get him high and then I would love to see you forcible rape him,” according to the court document.

The man reported Bazzi to police and authorities executed a search warrant at his home later that night.

A detective found multiple electronic devices containing the explicit videos and photos, as well as suspected methamphetamine and GHB, commonly referred to as “the date rape drug.”

Bazzi initially told police he had never sexually abused a child and had never created child porn, but after agreeing to a polygraph test, he admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy he met on a dating app in the summer of 2021, according to the court document.

He also admitted to providing the teen with meth, and video appears to show the teen smoking it while engaged in a crude act, according to the court document.

Authorities have not released any information on Bazzi’s arraignment.
