DETROIT (WWJ) – The "all clear" has been given after a bomb threat was called in at the 36th District Court building downtown Detroit on Tuesday.
Detroit police officials tell WWJ the bomb threat was called in around 2:30 p.m. The courthouse was evacuated and a bomb squad was called in.
Madison Street had been shut down between Randolph and St. Antoine as police investigated, but the scene was cleared around 4:30 p.m.
On Tuesday protesters gathered near the court building for a rally protesting the eviction of a terminally ill woman. Detroit police officials told WWJ as far as they know, the threat was not connected to the protest.
No other details about the bomb threat have been released.
It was not immediately clear whether police had identified as suspect.
