Police did not say how it is believed that Smith died, but said no foul play is suspected at this time.

Police said Smith left his mother's home on Rosemary Street – in the area of Outer Drive and Gratiot Avenue on the city’s east side – at 11 a.m. on Feb. 8, 2022, and never came back.

Smith and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument, police said, but it was not clear what prompted the dispute.

Smith's mother said her son was of sound body and mind, but she disclosed that he did take medication for a closed head injury he suffered last year.

No further information was released.
