DETROIT (WWJ) – Two people suspected of breaking into a pawn shop in Detroit late Saturday night are in custody, thanks to the help of a Michigan State Police helicopter.
MSP officials say Trooper Two was patrolling above the city when they got a call of a breaking-and-entering in progress at a pawn shop on Greenfield Road sometime around 10 p.m.
The chopper was able to track the suspects to the area of Moross and Kendall on the city’s east side.
Video released Sunday morning shows the suspects getting out of a silver SUV and running on foot.
Officials say both suspects were eventually taken into custody by ground units, including one man who was caught trying to hide underneath a porch.
Officials have not released any details about the suspects or what possible charges they may be facing.
It was not clear what was taken from the pawn shop, which was not identified by police.
