DETROIT (WWJ) – Police in Detroit are asking for the public’s help in finding the people responsible for carjacking an Amazon delivery driver on the city’s north side late last month.

It all unfolded around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30 in the area of Renfrew and Pembroke, near Livernois Avenue and 8 Mile Road.

Video captured from a resident’s Nest doorbell camera shows a blue Ford Escape pull up in the area. A suspect wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and a black ski mask got out of the Ford and is seen running up to a white 2021 Dodge Ram 3500 van.

The suspect got into the vehicle, which was loaded up with about 110 packages at the time, and demanded the driver’s keys, according to Detroit police.

Authorities say the victim handed over the keys and the suspect sped away, following the Ford Escape.
