DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for a driver who hit a car on Detroit’s east side earlier this month, leaving three women injured.

Detroit police officials say the hit-and-run happened around 1:15 a.m. on March 13 in the area of E. 8 Mile Road and Van Dyke when someone driving a dark colored sedan struck a silver 2011 Buick and then fled the scene.

Three women who were sitting in the back seat of the Buick were critically injured, according to Detroit police.

Authorities did not disclose specifics on the women’s injuries, but said they are still being treated for their injuries.

Detroit police have released an image of the suspect’s vehicle apparently driving through a red light around the time of the hit-and-run.
