Detroit police looking for driver of Dodge Charger that hit, killed 41-year-old man as he crossed the street

DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for the driver of a Dodge Charger involved in a deadly hit-and-run on Detroit’s west side over the holiday weekend.

A 41-year-old man was crossing the street near Michigan Avenue and Livernois when he was hit by a car around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, according to Detroit police.

Officials say the dark-colored Charger fled the scene, heading east on Michigan.

The victim, whose name was not released, died of his injuries.

Not other details surrounding the crash were released.

Police on Wednesday released an image of the suspect vehicle, hoping someone in the community can help them identify the driver.
