DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police are asking for the community’s help in tracking down whoever was responsible for fatally shooting a man sitting in his car last week on the city’s northwest side.

A 51-year-old man was sitting in the driver’s seat of a white 2015 Chevy Silverado pickup truck around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 30 in the area of Schaefer and Puritan when a black Dodge Durango pulled up and someone inside fired shots at the truck, police said.

The victim was hit by the gunfire and privately taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect’s vehicle was last seen fleeing the area eastbound on Puritan.
