Detroit police asking for help finding thieves caught on camera stealing pickup truck

DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for a pair of suspects who stole a man’s pickup truck on the city’s northwest side last month.

Detroit police officials say it all went down sometime between 11:15-11:45 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20 in the 20500 block of Livernois – just south of 8 Mile Road.

Surveillance video shared by police on Sunday shows two suspects exiting a newer model gray or silver Chevy Silverado and jumping into the 55-year-old victim’s black 2004 Silverado.

Both trucks then speed away from the scene.

Authorities are asking anyone who knows something about the theft to call the Detroit Police Department’s Commercial Auto Theft Unit at 313-596-2555, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

As always, all Crime Stoppers tipsters will remain 100% anonymous.
