DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police are asking for help identifying a woman who was killed in a string of random shootings early Sunday morning.
The woman was one of three people killed in the spree. Authorities have charged 19-year-old Dontae Smith with three murders, as well as the non-fatal shooting of a 76-year-old man and his dog.
Police found the body of the unidentified woman, believed to be in her 40s, with multiple gunshot wounds in the area of Wyoming and Margareta around 5:30 a.m. Sunday after a neighbor reported hearing gunfire. She was the first of four victims found that day.
Detroit police on Wednesday released a sketch of the woman.

She is described as about 5-foot-6, 165 lbs., with brown eyes, two long braids and a medium build. She was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and gray and black Nike sweatpants.
Officials say she also had a multi-colored purse that had green New York basketball shorts inside.

Anyone who recognizes this victim or has any information pertaining to the shooting is being asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
