DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for a suspect who allegedly shot a 15-year-old girl on the city’s east side.

The teen was walking in the area of 7 Mile Road and Albany Street – just west of Mound Road – around 1 p.m. Wednesday when someone fired shots at her from a black Ford Fusion with tinted windows.

Authorities say the teen was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition Thursday afternoon.

Detroit police officials haven’t released many details about the shooting, including a possible motive or a description of the suspect.

It’s not clear whether anyone else was with the girl at the time of the shooting.

Authorities released a photo of the suspect’s Ford Fusion on Thursday in hopes it will lead them to the suspect.

Anyone who recognizes the car or knows something about the shooting is being asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s 11th Precinct at 313-596-1140 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
