DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for a pair of suspects who robbed a man after cutting his lawn.

Detroit police officials say the suspects are known in the neighborhood for going door-to-door and cutting people’s lawns.

But around 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 13, they allegedly cut a man’s lawn on Artesian between Ford and Kirkwood Roads on the city’s far west side and then robbed the man, according to police.

Officials say the suspects “overpowered the man and took his wallet” after they were done mowing the lawn.

Other circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear. Police did not say whether the suspects typically get paid when they mow people's lawns.

Police on Monday released photos of the two suspects and are asking for help bringing them in.

Anyone who knows the suspects or knows something about the case is being asked to contact detectives in the DPD’s 6th Precinct at 313-596-5649 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
