DETROIT (WWJ) – Police in Detroit are still searching for a suspect who they say set fire to a house on the city’s northwest side seven months ago.

Back in March police released video showing a man dumping a liquid outside of a home on Avon, near 7 Mile Road and Southfield Freeway, then lighting it on fire and fleeing the scene.

Officials have not disclosed the extent of damage the home suffered in the arson incident.

On Sunday police renewed their calls for tips that help them find the suspect.

While a motive in the case remains unclear, authorities have released multiple images of the man, including surveillance photos from inside a nearby convenience store around the time of the arson and his driver’s license.

Authorities did not release the suspect’s name or an exact description, but are asking anyone who recognizes him to call the Detroit Police Department’s Arson Unit at 313-596-2940.
