DETROIT (WWJ) - A woman's dismembered remains have been found at a residence on the westside of Detroit, Chief James White said in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

White said the body was discovered after a community group jumped in to help the investigation of local missing woman, Latima Warren.

"They went through the home and did a search of the house, and a search of the yard and they did not recover anything at that time...," White said in a press conference.

"When we returned, they brought in cadaver dogs and they got a hit with the dogs. And we find ourselves where we are right now -- really, really a tragic situation."

Warren was first reported missing almost a month ago -- she was last seen around midnight on Dec. 20, near the 8000 block of Vaughan Street on the city's west side.

The man living in the home -- who police confirmed was dating Warren -- has been arrested and charges are pending.
