ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WWJ) – Dooley’s Tavern, a popular bar in Roseville, is permanently closing its doors after a fatal shooting over the weekend.
Julius Bing, a 36-year-old Warren man, affectionately known by friends as Juju, was shot and killed Saturday night while escorting an unruly man out of the bar. A second person was shot, but is expected to recover, police said.
In the wake of the shooting, the owners of Dooley’s told Roseville police that they will be closing permanently, effective immediately.
Owners believe “this was the appropriate thing to do, considering recent events,” police said in a press release.
Authorities said the decision to close the bar was not facilitated by any action of the city or the Roseville Police Department.

Police said Dooley’s management has been “very cooperative during this investigation and pledge their continued cooperation.
The suspected shooter is a 25-year-old man from Farmington Hills. He is expected to be arraigned this week.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help provide a funeral for Bing. As of 8 p.m. Monday night, the page had raised nearly $8,500 of its $12,000 goal.
The page says Bing was a father of four and had three step-children.
"Julius was a very loving & hard-working Father, he worked two jobs and never complained to make sure his children were taken care of," the page said.
