DETROIT (WWJ) -- A toddler who wandered out of its home wearing only a diaper and socks in chilly temperatures was rescued by a DoorDash driver in Detroit.
According to Fox 2 Detroit, Robert Jackson III was working a shift, driving on 8 Mile Road near John R Street on Sunday morning when he spotted the child and pulled over.
Jackson wrapped the toddler in a coat and put him in his car to warm up, as the temperature was around 38 degrees, while waving down another driver to call police.
Officers found that the child's home was less than a block away where he walked out of the house while being babysat by a 16-year-old sibling.
The child was taken to Children's Hospital to be checked out. The child's condition has not been released.
