
DEARBORN (WWJ) A double shooting in Dearborn has left one of the victims in critical condition.
Dearborn Police said they were called to the scene around 12:40 a.m. Saturday. The gunfire had broken out earlier outside of a business on Michigan Avenue (14,000 block) near Schaefer. When police arrived, they found two victims; 34 and 50; with gunshot wounds.
Further investigation revealed two suspects had fled the scene, according to police.
The 34-year-old is hospitalized in critical condition. The 50-year-old was treated and discharged.
Investigators are still searching for answers to numerous questions including the motive, what unfolded prior to the shooting, and the suspects’ relationship to the victims.
Plain-clothed officers worked throughout the night to find the suspects. The pair, both Dearborn residents, was taken into custody around 5 a.m. Saturday, according to police.
The victims’ identities have not been released.
Police said they do not believe this was a “random act of violence.”
