DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for a man who Detroit police officials say shot someone to death after they failed to hold the elevator door for him.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday at 400 Monroe, near the Fishbones restaurant in the Greektown neighborhood downtown.

Speaking at a press conference Monday afternoon, Detroit Police Chief James White said the shooting happened on the eighth floor of the building after an argument, which “seemed to involve one person’s ability to hold the elevator for him.”

Authorities have not released any information about the victim, but released photos of the suspect on social media Monday.

No other information regarding the case has been released, but Detroit police are asking anyone who knows something about the shooting to call DPD at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
