Endangered Missing Advisory issued for Romulus teen last seen on Sunday

A missing 16-year-old diagnosed with mental illness has been missing for three days and police are working to bring her home.

ROMULUS (WWJ) - A missing 16-year-old diagnosed with mental illness has been missing for three days and police are working to bring her home.

Michigan State Police said they are searching for Laniya Mona Thomas who was last seen on July 17 in the area of 35600 Margaret and 35600 Stephanie, near the Barrington Apartments in Romulus.

Troopers said Laniya is living with Bi-Polar and Schizophrenic disorder– she has not been on her medication for several days.

Police have described the 16-year-old as a Black female standing approximately 5’ 2” and weighing 160 lbs. She has black hair and brown eyes.

She was last known to be wearing an all-black outfit, including a black hoodie with a design that looks like holes, black shirt, black cotton shorts, black socks and black Crocs.

Police said they believe Laniya is on foot.
